Dave's passion for mechanics and motorsport began at a young age. He's worked on all sorts of vehicles, from regular road cars to high-performance cars, classics, Formula 1 cars, and even lawnmowers.
He started his career at a local Land Rover specialist garage, where he did general repairs and built off-road competition cars. Dave also worked as a civilian contractor for the Army, fixing everything from quad bikes to tanks, and he even got his H CAT license while working in Bordon.
Dave is an active member of the Farnborough District Motor Club. He used to race his mini at various events and eventually bought a stage rally car. He's been a co-driver in both tarmac and off-road rallies, including local ones like the Mini Tempest Stages. Dave enjoys participating in smaller events organized by local motor clubs, like Targas, Autosolos, Sprints, and 12-car navigational rallies.
In January 2022, Dave finished rebuilding his stage rally Peugeot 205 from the ground up. He had a successful year of racing and supported fellow competitors and friends at various events.
After working at a local family-run garage for a while, Dave shifted his focus to a unique local business that restores and maintains classic and historic race cars, including Formula 1 cars from the 80s and 90s. He even got to run these cars at test days and events like the Goodwood Revival.
